Course Description
Learning
The question of how humans learn has been the focus of scientific study for over 100 years. In this time, learning has been examined behaviorally, socially, cognitively, and neurologically. Ultimately, what has emerged is a complex view of learning as an adaptive process involving humans interacting with their environment, other humans, and themselves.
Knowledge
As humans interact with their environment, other humans, and themselves, they develop an understanding of what works, and what doesn't. They integrate what they already know with current experiences to create new conceptual, procedural, and conditional knowledge. Ultimately, humans develop knowledge of how to navigate their lives.
Application
Humans learn to navigate their lives by applying their knowledge to the world around them — a world full of people, objects, technology, education, decisions, and needs. Humans leverage their knowledge to learn, act, feel, and think more effectively. Ultimately, humans apply what they know to successfully live their lives.
